BIO
Karo Zacharski (b. 1998, Kielce, Poland) is a Bergen- and Warsaw-based new media artist.
He holds BA and MA degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he received distinction for his bachelor’s diploma in 2021. In 2026, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen.
His work has been exhibited at institutions including KODE (Bergen), Bergen Kunsthall, CSW Kronika, and WOK Lab (Warsaw), and presented at festivals such as Open Out Festival (Tromsø), Post Porn Film Festival (Warsaw), Immersion Festival (Warsaw), ICIA Festival (Kraków), and Light Move Festival (Lodz).
STATEMENT
Karo focuses on new media, such as sound, 3D, VR, and installation; he is open, however, to other means of expression. While designing his projects, he creates a series of complementary components to engage as many of the spectators’ senses as possible.
Karo is a trans man and transhumanist. The topics of non-normativity and hopeful speculations about the future of humanity receive much of his attention.
In his work, he focuses more on the individual’s relationship with the world and with oneself than on the surrounding reality, which he approaches with a considerable degree of cynicism.
